I thought it silly that after 6 months of living at MDA City Apartments in Chicago I still don’t know many other people in the building. We are all young, normal people – we can probably all relate.

So I created a Facebook group for the purpose of connecting all our neighbors. Here we can introduce ourselves, post building events, upload photos, make friends. It’s also a great way for building management to reach the tenants.

I think other buildings should do something similar and it’s a wonder that more haven’t. This is another way of using the social web to strengthen connections in daily life.
